Honestly! Do people think that the beltway moves faster in VA? It’s faster to cut through DC than it is to use the beltway in VA. The perpetual construction gas been a nightmare for years. Why would anyone try to brag about that?

Data centers end up being a net negative for the average VA citizen. Construction jobs only last for a year or two and then staffed by a dozen people for a center the size of a football field. Drives up land and home prices. Drives up utility prices as Joe Schmoe is competing with billion dollar data centers for electricity. Eye sores.

In 30 years, empty rotting data centers will be the equivalent of today’s empty eye sore malls.

NoVa is losing jobs so they're getting desperate:

https://www.novaregion.org/DocumentCenter/View/14396/Economic-Tracking-Report---Sept-6-2024

Amazon isn't working out as promised, the sports teams abandoned them, commercial office vacancies are the highest in the region -- so when all else fails, they've gone to Plan B of blaming Maryland.

I know something needs to happen around the AL Bridge but VAs toll lanes are so confusing. Just the signage raises my blood pressure when I enter VA.

It is funny to see so many people

Fairfax County
- Median HHI: $145k (rising)
- Poverty: 6% (static)
- Fortune 500 HQs: 10

Montgomery County
- Median HHI: $125k (static)
- Poverty: 12% (rising quickly)
- Fortune 500 HQs: 2

Maryland is for craters lovers.

Well, if that's true, it's true for NoVa also. About 20% of MoCo residents are in government jobs and it's about the same percentage for Arlington and for Fairfax. Facts are inconvenient.

except all those biotech and high tech jobs

And hospitality jobs. Or professional sports related jobs. Does VA have professional sports? Oh, not since the Virginia Squires.
