This is OP. The problem is, all the other names we like are problematic in more significant ways - tragic character in book or play, murderer or victim, used by friends or family.

Antigone, Ophelia, Medea, Anne?

Want something traditional? Vaguely Greek/Latin inspired?

How about Aurora? Phoebe? Helena? Margaret? Claire? Iris? Penelope? Patricia?

I wasn't allowed to do Jason because of DH's freshman roommate.

I think avoiding exes names makes sense.

How about Elphaba!

It’s really best to find a name you’re both excited about. We had a very hard time naming ours, so I know it’s tough.

How long ago was this relationship? It seems weird that your dh cares about an old relationship that was only a couple of months long. Unless the relationship was more recent and maybe they are still in touch?

I would say it’s fine. In ten years it will be your daughters name and ex gf will be a blip in the past

I think if one parent is against naming a child something, for whatever reason, the other parent should respect that and find a different name. There are thousands of them.

My favorite girl name also happens to be the same name as one of DH's exes. They were together only for a couple months, but DH thinks it's weird and is against naming DD this. What do you all think?
