That last season Beach U19 team did not lose a game in conference or tournament all season. They had some players.

Actually, there was and Beach FC earned it https://theecnl.com/news/2024/9/23/ecnl-boys-announces-2024-2025-super-cup-events.aspx

So the initial gripe in the OP was the actual subjective bias

Irony lol

Beach FC had the highest combined average place in the ECNL table last season U13-U19. That is why they were selected along with the other clubs.

Not entirely sure why ECNL is alienating clubs with this whole super cup business.

It’s not like there was an objective selection of clubs. If that was the case Beach would not have been selected to represent VA. Do they have some good teams- yes of course- but so do a lot of clubs with better overall records over time.

Appreciate they are trying to add more games to the season —especially since there are so few league games—but it feels somewhat arbitrary and a snub to top age group teams who are paying same fees for so few games and may have better record than their age teams at these particular clubs who were anointed.

Teams should be able to qualify (vs clubs) unless of course they are trying to canibalize and direct all players to a select set of clubs (which wouldn’t seem to be good for the economics of their business model)….it seems to pit players /teams against their clubs not selected for extra opportunities/exposure…
