Yeah, she became so dull once she dropped her rebel persona and adopted a lady of the manor lifestyle with Brad. And her messaging: noone loves her kids as much as she does, noone works as hard as she does, noone misses their mother as much as she does, noone has been hurt in a divorce as much as she has. I find her completely insufferable now.
To be fair, many of us found her insufferable then too. Just a different kind of attention-seeking behavior these days.

Anonymous wrote:In an article with The Hollywood Reporter, I learned AJ sang six pieces during the film. Of course, she had a coach and took coaching seriously, as she does most things.
Anonymous wrote:AJ is not a good actress. She played a junkie well, looked hot and tan and healthy as Lara Croft, played herself in Maleficent. Rest is forgettable.

I thought WaPo had a fair review, wrote Jolie inhabits the role of an exemplary wan, suffering diva (who could be anyone) but fails decisively in capturing Callas's spirit and charm. This is evident in the clips I've seen, so I have no interest in watching. Gaga would have been a far better choice, in appearance and voice. Or Sabrina Impacciatore, if they could have convincingly aged her for the later scenes. Sounds like the script is also a dog. Too bad, because this project had real potential.
OP here. So true, Jolie shows zero spirit or charm.
I agree, Gaga would have been a better choice. I liked her in The Gucci family a lot, except for her fake accent that sounded more Eastern European than Italian. It would have been so easy to learn an Italian accent.

All Angelina talks about in interviews is how her suffering parallels Callas's. Girl, bye. So sick of this spoiled rich actress and her "suffering." She seems like the most joyless human ever. You know who never seemed joyless, even in her darkest days? Callas.
