Do any clubs around you have SuperY? Its generally not the highest quality competition but it will give him training and match minutes, both of which will help. Private training is an option too, but obviously does not offer game play opportunities.

Is he already plugged into the HS team communications? My kid's high school team has informal trainings throughout the year and summer. It's mostly self organized by the captains/players on the team. They'll just meet at the school field and play pickup games. Recent alumni sometimes show up when they are home from college. Very informal but keeps them connected.

Several private training being offered to prepare for HS tryouts. Just search in your area. Jv level is not high and if he played travel before he should have a chance. It depends how good that school is and the talent that shows up.

Looking for help here, thanks in advance. My son is currently a HS freshman and a two sport athlete, and soccer is not his primary sport. Given the demands of his primary sport, he had to drop club soccer, but was still fortunate enough to make his HS's freshman team (WCAC school, the freshman and JV team tryouts are pretty competitive).

I love soccer and grew up playing it so I would love it if he could somehow make his school's JV team next fall, but was wondering what the best way to get him training this summer would be. Are there summer soccer camps/clinics that would fit his profile? Are guest players on lower level clubs a thing around here? Him making JV is likely a longshot regardless, but I think he'd at least have a fighting chance with some games/reps over the summer versus nothing at all except fitness and training on his own.
