A pharmacist is a professional. And pp didn’t say what they were giving.

PT Nanny $200 (when we had one)
Teachers $25 allowed kids to pick up to four
Coaches $25

We also gift cakes from Nothing Bundt.
Gave those to the teachers who did their college recommendations.

As the parent of a kid with ADHD/Anxiety, my pharmacist. He is the one that has been helping me find all the shortage medications this year. He truly goes out of his way to make my life easier--above and beyond what his job requires.

No one! I also don't have a cleaner, doorman, dog walker, nanny or anything like that. Childs teacher got a gift certificate to the book fair.

I tip the cleaner, nanny, and dog walker but that’s it. I have never even met the mailman or garbage man and would feel weird giving them money.

Cleaners $1000
Teachers $20 each (I would do more but there's a max per student)

That's really the only people in our life we use regularly enough to tip. We have different delivery drivers every day so I feel weird about doing that.

We tip as follows:

Cleaners- check for full amount of extra cleaning, so double what we would normally pay in December)

Teachers- all HS now, kids get 4 $50 gift cards and have to write a note to teachers (we send in $ for all teachers at the end of the year. I feel a little weird giving out $ mid-year).

Coaches- we gift at the end of the season with team. We have gotten gifts in the past for coaches, usually a $25 gift card to Dick’s and something fun (food, Santa hat, etc) if we know them well.

We tipped our dog walkers $100 each (there are two of them — one is technically the back up walker, but she seems to do about half of the walks).

When we went out to dinner on Thanksgiving, we made sure to give the server a 30% tip. So a little bit extra there, because it was a holiday.

That’s it, although these threads are making me wonder if I should be tipping our trash collectors and mail carrier as well. We don’t have kids.

I’m putting this on the parenting forum because I think there are some family-specific holiday pay outs. I’m wondering to whom you give holiday bonuses/tips? I feel like I never learned this part of adulting. If you can make a list of who you give $$ at this time of year and how much, that’d be a huge help to me! Our HHI is $250K if that helps set the stage.

1. Mail carrier? How much?
2. Cleaners? How much?
3. Teachers? (Our school does this through centralized donations to PTA, so that’s easy)
4. What about activity teachers like the piano teacher or a coach? If “yes” how much?
5. Anyone else?

We don’t celebrate Xmas, but I know that it’s a norm to give gifts at this time of year and I want to show my appreciation in a way that is in line with general cultural norms. I want to give sane amounts to the right people. Help!
