That's assuming they have enough to tie them over for an extended shutdown. That might be tough for lower-graded federal employees as well as for federal employees who are in high-cost-of-living areas.
But either way it's stupid. History has already shown over and over again that government shutdowns cause far more damage both functionally and fiscally than just keeping the government going in the first place.
I don't understand how Republicans still don't seem to grasp that. They are simpletons in fantasy land. They need to look at the actual numbers and impacts of a shutdown.
