I think the research is pretty clear at this point that most who come off of it gain the weight right back. Pretty much like with any other diet.

My doctor says I will need to be on Wegovy for life, and that obesity is a chronic condition (which for me, it certainly is -- I take another drug that causes it, a drug I need to live). We will see if the insurance companies think the same way once I reach a normal BMI and still want a weight loss drug.

At any rate, I've been on it since April and have lost 40ls. About 30 more to go for a normal BMI. I dropped from an obese BMI to an overweight BMI just this week.

Some definitely are.

Ozempic and Wegovy have different dosing. A therapeutic dose of Wegovy is higher than a therapeutic dose of Ozempic. So you could easily lose on Wegovy but not when taking Ozempic for diabetes.

I lost over 40 lbs only ever getting to the 1 mg dose. I've been taking .50 every two weeks and maintaining. In 2025 I may try to taper more. It's really effective for me.

My sibling has plateaued on a lower dose but had pretty bad side effects on a higher one. Lost some weight but still obese.

25 lbs doesn't sound like a huge amount, unless you're really short? I'm just wondering where everyone is getting it. I need to lose 20 lbs but my BMI is technically fine.

I haven't stopped taking it but I have plateued and that's pretty common. You don't just keep losing forever until you disappear

I have stretched the time between doses and that's been fine, but beyond 1 missed dose (2 weeks total) I definitely feel hungry.

I’m very tempted to try Wegovy and need to lose about 30 lbs. I would love to hear from someone who has successfully stopped taking the drug. Do you gain the weight back? I see friends on it who are now at the too skinny stage and are starting to look unhealthy.
Can you taper off?
