Don’t be a jerk. It’s not OP’s fault her parents smoke. It’s also not their fault—my parents got addicted in the last 1960s when doctors were literally prescribing women to smoke to lose weight.

They’ve had half a century to stop if they so wished. It’s their choice to continue to smoke.

Is there any reason they can't do this leg work themselves? You invited them, they put stipulations on it, they should be doing the digging here. Drop the rope.

Do your parents lack the ability to find a hotel on their own?

Start with those hotels.

Do the same google search I did and see if you find anything else.

Cambria allows smoking!? I will take it off my list of recommended hotels.

Choice Hotels website lists it as a non-smoking hotel, so maybe Tripadvisor can't be relied on for this.

No Marriott Bonvoy hotels in the US allow smoking. That is 30+ brands including courtyard, residence inn, etc.

You will probably have to find an independent hotel or an Airbnb.

OP, don't know where you are in MoCo but look into cabin-type VRBO rentals. Many times, they allow smoking on the decks.

OP I’m sorry. My parents smoke and also don’t travel much. I definitely have been to hotels that still allow smoking in some rooms but I don’t know if ultra liberal MoCo has any. I would try lower end hotels.

Or the expense of cleaning out after the smoker "smokes on the balcony." They reek, their stuff reeks, the bedding will reek.

Where in MoCo are you? I would pick a place close to you that your parents would like and yes call them to ask them the options. If the first place doesn’t have options, ask them if they can recommend who does have smoking options.

Invited my parents to join us in MoCo for Christmas but they said they would only come if we could get them a hotel room that allows smoking.

I don’t see any way to filter this when I’m on sites like Expedia or Hotels.com. Do I just need to pick up the phone and start calling various hotels to see if they have any smoking rooms?

Even a room with an attached small balcony would be sufficient but it’s difficult to filter for those as well. Hoping someone on here has hd a similar family experience and can share a go to spot.
