Only NY has a December cutoff. They have decided to disadvantage their kids against the rest of the nation by having an earlier cutoff and younger students. Fab. Less competition for the rest of us.

The second study is from the UK, where the cut-off is September 1st; so a September birthday there is like a January birthday here, while an August birthday there is like a December birthday here.

First one is a blogger, second says nothing. The blogger has young kids so that’s not relevant at all. I have a youngest. They are glad I did not hold them back. And, they are in the highest level classes they can take which meant classes with seniors as a freshman.

Parents who want their kid to be the oldest should conceive as soon as the mother has her period between March 27th and April 23rd of any given year. This is because a baby’s due date is estimated at 40 weeks after the mother’s last period. A menstruation date of March 27th will result in a due date of January 1st, while a menstruation date of April 23rd will result in a due date of January 28th.

However, babies are rarely born exactly on their due date, with many being born earlier. A baby due in January could easily be born in December and be doomed to be the youngest. Therefore, the parents of a child who was born before the new year, but due after the new year, should be allowed to redshirt said child.
