Is this code for “once I was rich enough for a lie flat seat”?

Not PP, but I got into the points/miles hobby basically because of this. It has made a huge difference for the first few days of trips to Europe to be able to get 4-5 hours of sleep on the plane in the lie flat seat. Before that I only ever slept maybe an hour or so in economy on over night flights.

Jet lag has got worse with age for us.

We live in Asia and travel back to the US at least twice a year. The time difference is 12 or 13 hours (depending on Daylight Savings time) and the jet lag is brutal. It just is. My best tips are to power through and get on the destination's schedule (I.e. don't take a nap if you arrive at 8AM, just try to stay up until 7 or 8PM). Get morning sunlight, eat breakfast at a reasonable time, make sure you get a lot of light exposure during the day. Taking melatonin helps but only for a couple of days. Take it before bedtime to supplement your brain's pineal gland, which will be secreting it's melatonin during the day because your internal clock is still on the "old" time. You can take it simultaneously with magnesium. Good luck.

I’ve been traveling internationally for work for 20 years and in the last 6-7 discovered melatonin which has been a game changer. I know some people use magnesium too. Does one use both at the same time?

I’ve heard good things about the supplement One Above from New Zealand but found it too pricey to try.

I’m also interested in trying some of the apps like Timeshifter. Does anyone have experience with those?

Any other major tips (sunlight, caffeine, etc.)?
