We are looking at an abbreviated, 7 day version of this. Someone mentioned the dorms and I’m worried about my teen daughter. Do they separate by gender? Some companies have an 18 year old age minimum so we will have to see. They are both experienced and DH is even insisting that he wants to carry his own pack.

I’m not going to hike buy paragliding sounds amazing!

Here's an abbreviated version for families. https://tourdumontblanchike.com/family-friendly-tour-du-mont-blanc-6-day-itinerary/

Ultimately, I decided I didn't want to share a dorm room with a bunch of strangers and have a community bathroom down the hall. Sticking to day hiking.

DH wants to do the Alta Via but I don’t want to back to Italy again.we’ve both been at least 6 times.

Friends did this in the Pyrenees and loved it. My family did it in New Zealand and it was amazing.

I love these types of vacations. I’m not super picky though about hotels or restaurants, and I think that’s important. Not at all sure I’d want to have half a group doing something else tbh.

The Haute Walkers/Hiking route in France/Switzerland is quite challenging and is hut to hut/hotel. You can find companies online that will guide and make all the reservations for your group.

Yes! I've done them several times both hiking and back country skiing. I was very impressed by the food and wine in Switzerland. Definitely do it if you get a chance.

We are looking for a trip for a teenager and DH. He is a big hiker/backpacker and she is very fit. They want to carry their packs so nothing fancy. I'll be on the trip with another kid and we'll go off and do our own thing while they are hiking. Any recommendations?
