This. You’re 38 and that’s a great age to start lifting for your 40s and beyond. Id start focusing on getting strong. You’ll look your best w/ tone, not a lower scale number.

A high-protein yogurt for a bedtime snack
Include protein as the main food at every meal
Water and coffee only

After a few weeks you’ll start to lose weight

You can do it! I am in a similar boat. I am around 10 lbs over where I should be at 5'9.

I already don't drink alcohol. And exercise and eat mostly whole foods. I know I have to be more diligent about no sugar, and portions. I got off track with some travel and less discipline.

I have used a calorie tracking app and need to go back to it, it is eye opening.

Restaurants, need to scope out menu in advance. Probably salad with protein.

Cocktail events, need to fill plate with veggies no dip, and fruit.

Have to be mindful of "special" foods such as those at holiday, and associated with DH hometown, or events/etc. There is a beloved sub shop which is the best we have had in the world. But I need to choose the very small, turkey wheat sub with no mayo/oil.

Great post, I will keep checking for ideas and inspiration myself

I follow theweightloss.nutrionist on Instagram, who has a few specific and easy-to-remember goals: 3 meals/day, protein at each meal, 5 different veggies a day. Upping protein and veggies doesn't leave room for as many carbs. She also has lots of meal/snack suggestions.

I also use LoseIt to track calories. This is really helpful in the holiday season when I end up eating more sweets/treats and need to be sure to offset the additional calories.

Track your food!! Wake up an hour earlier than you already do and get your workout in first thing. Cardio with weight training, do a video if you need to, whatever you need to do to get your sweat on for 30 minutes minimum. Eat super low calorie with nothing fatty and no carbs are snacking outside of whole grains with your meals. If you need a snack, snack on for it. The most important thing is to spend one or two days just calorie tracking so you can see more or less how you can eat to your deficit calories. I have friends that just did exactly this and were able to lose 15 pounds in a couple of months, you can lose what you need to in no Time

I’m a 38 year old woman who has generally not had to worry about weight.

Right now I’m 5’4”, 134 lbs. I’d like to get under 130, where I feel more comfortable. My goal weight is 128, where I had been for years.

I know I don’t eat well. I don’t really eat chips, candy, etc. I do eat too many carbs, though, and not enough fruits and vegetables.

I also am not great about working out.

I work from home and have a Peloton. So I know I have zero excuses.

Help me figure out what to eat to make this happen.
