That said, who would want to live in a mega skyrise in Bethesda of all places.

Not everything has to be for you.

If nobody wants to live in a tall building in downtown Bethesda, i.e., if there's no demand, then the developers won't build tall buildings in downtown Bethesda.

Who though? I honestly have no idea who the target buyers are.

That's ok. Unless you are a developer, or a realtor I suppose, you don't have to have any idea who the target buyers are.

Jesus, this is a terrible way to think about building a functional community. I’m happy that you probably don’t govern, because your planning skills are awful.

They already played that game. The promised more parks. They bought the land. Then the sold the land to a developer.

People should stop being fooled by these people. PP calls them liars and I think that’s true.

I'm honestly astonished to hear this was a development cap in downtown Bethesda.

They just did this because they will soon run out of reasons to have at least one lane closed on Wisconsin Ave. at all times. God forbid there are 3 fully open lanes on both sides all the way from Bradley to Battery!

Which parks did the county promise, and where did the county promise these parks?

Sad to think it will look more like Rosslyn in the future.

Why is it sad to think this?

Are we shocked? They need that tax money to pay for the rest of the county!

It just demonstrates that the county government lies constantly. Across the board, every facet of county government that interacts with the public lies constantly. It’s a culture problem that is probably borne out of a lack of accountability due to one party rule. MCPS, the Council and particularly Planning just lie. No integrity.

At least they are building density in an urban area and not leafy suburbs, which is a move in the right direction, I guess. Though, I wonder how current residents feel about it.
