Winter Classic has had snacks for sale some years, nothing others. No idea for this year, but when they did it was cup o noodles type stuff.

That is so smart. You could make a killing.

Except I think it probably benefits UMD not NCAP.

Correct, at least for other meets. At champs, they have UMD security checking backpacks for outside food and drink.

+1, it’s outrageously expensive but my kid loves eating in the student cafeteria. Bonus if your kid is 11-12 and will make finals because it is a very short walk from Eppley to the student dining hall and there is very little time between the 12 U session and finals warm up.

I’m the PP who also mentioned Panera. Have the app downloaded so you can order from the natatorium and then just grab it from the counter.

There is a Panera upstairs in the UMD student union (we discovered this at summer JOs when DD unexpectedly made finals and caught us completely unprepared).

Not haute cuisine but worked in a pinch. After swim, if it’s open, don’t miss The Creamery (at UMD) if you like ice cream.

At GMU, there is also a nearby strip mall with a tropical smoothie, deli, McDonald’s, etc. convenient drive but have to re-park your car.

For planning purposes, do any of the meets sell food? We are from NC where most swimming venues sell food, fried stuff and snacky foods, especially at prelim/finals meets since you can get stuck there all day.

If they don't, what do you all do? Uber eat food to the venue?

Any advice appreciated.

You shouldn't get stuck there all day; should likely have enough time to go home/hotel/out to a restaurant between prelims and finals. That said, at UMD and GMU, the food options and availability are not good. At GMU you can walk to the student center, which has some quick service food, think Chipotle. At UMD, you can also make a long walk to get something similar. But you will probably need to plan and pack food.

No concessions that I've ever seen at winter meets (summer, yes, but not winter). Kids carry light snacks like a granola bars or fruit (or candy). Audience just deals or goes out and comes back. I rarely even see water bottles. Rec centers generally don't allow food or drink anyway.
