I was in the Bahamas in late December once and honestly it just felt like Florida to me. So just go to Miami, but find a place a little inland so it's not crazy expensive.

Mexico City? Perhaps not the warmest given the elevation, but it’s still pleasant. If you don’t care too much about the destination I suggest giving your kids your criteria (plus budget and travel time) and ask them to come up with a few suggestions.
