Agree, as confirmed by Tulane Admissions in a TikTok in October, where they stated that 2/3 of last year's class was admitted through Early Action (EA). I have a freshman at Tulane who was accepted EA last year, and we have a family member with similar stats as my DC who was rejected yesterday.

Yeah…it’s talked about as basically an ED safety school from my private friends.

I think those days are over based on today’s anecdotal acceptances as well as last year’s EDs being down by half (according to unofficial AO reports).

No CDS out even from last cycle yet but times they are a changing at Tulane.

Well, his kid is in…so probably won’t change their mind.

No one cares about rando rankings - especially the schools. They do NOT update their profile due to them. Look at WF... that one dropped a lot due to cost and it's still almost impossible to get into.

Tulane moved up 10 spots this year. The school is focused on the rankings so will continue to move up as they admit more Pell Grant and first gen students. The only reason it’s ranking dropped was because US News changed the rules of the game (in a stupid way in my opinion). It seems crazy not to include selectivity in the rankings. The amazing upper class dorms they just built will help Tulane as well.

Tulane is free to apply to and has an optional essay. Both of these things drive up the number of applications.

Yes. Tulane, Wake Forest, Brandeis, etc. All the places that dropped are on the outs. Only a few more cycles until the ranking drop catches up with them. It is just a matter of time.

No, because the rankings don’t mean much.
