If you back into the space you have a clearly defined, small area you need to see into. It positions you closest to the cross traffic of the parking lot and also allows you to drive forward with increased visibility when leaving the space. If you pull forward into the space it sets you up for the least visibility when leaving - cars or SUVs potentially on both sides of you + needing to turn around for an obstructed view backwar, left and right from a position furthest away from traffic lane. With SUVs and hatchbacks, there's an argument for pulling forward into the space because you need clearance for your rear hatch to swing open, but with a sedan that's not the case.
Backing into the space is safest for all.

Seriously, WTH is wrong with you people? You just start backing out without even looking or waiting. Everyone will stop for YOU.

Personally, I stop when I see someone backing out. It's called courtesy and treating someone the way you would like to be treated.

You use your neck, turn around and look. You use your rear view mirrors. I have never just backed out without looking. You are the problem
