Huh? I vacuum mine all the time. As you should.

I want one but I don't like the look. I needed new rugs - small house so they are constantly used so I just got the $100 specials and figure I will wash them in the spring with a hose/soap (done it before) and hang dry or just replace them every few years.

I know a rug in the kitchen sounds dumb but I got a cushioned mat for in there to help me with standing for long periods and it helps a lot but it's hideous so I thought a runner to go over it would help. Might not even use it all the time but definitely when we host.

We got ours from RugsUSA, it's the house brand and I've had it for five years.

It really depends on where you're going to use it. We have one on top of a thick felt pad in our kitchen and it's been fantastic - every few weeks, I throw it in the wash in the evening and it dries overnight. We tried one in front of our patio door but it kept getting kicked up every time the door opened and closed and I got rid of it. I would not use one in one of our living areas because they're not thick or particularly soft. GREAT in the kitchen though.

I only have the thin pad Ruggables at our front door and back door (where the dog comes in). They work well for these areas and my personal preference is for thicker wool rugs in other areas. But - I've seen the large ones with thicker padding in friends homes and they look fine.

Without pets or children, I probably wouldn't get these.

That's due to a chemical spray like Scotchgard/Rain-X that you can spray on anything, right?

We recently got one from Tumble. I love it so far. Liquids bead on it and don’t really sink in. I haven’t washed it yet. I vacuumed it yesterday on a low setting and it was fine.

Ruggables always look like s**t to me in Person but I understand the utility for specific uses such as a mudroom

I bought a matterly mat runner for a high traffic spot and think it looks way nicer, still clearly a washable rug but nicer and flatter than a huggable that is always wrinkly

I'm not a huge fan, but could work in the right circumstances like pets or young kids.

I have multiple ruggables and I love them. My Dyson doesn’t pick them up but I do vacuum them a certain way (step on the edge, run vac up and down, step on diff edge, etc) that’s for the smaller ones. I have a big one in my living room and no issues with vacuuming it. I have the very thin pads for the entry way ones and got the super thick pad and tufted topper for the living room, since we hang out there mainly. Super soft and cushy. They are also spot-washable so you don’t need to throw them into the wash for every little thing.
They often have 20% sales so I’d buy then.

Looking at a runner size washable rug. It’s a great idea, but I am concerned about the thinness and if my vacuum will suck up the rug. I assume I would need a felt rug pad. Would love anyone’s opinions.
