reachout to the directors over ever club in each alliance to see how many players they need? Not being sarcastic here but does that actually work? Also, how do you navigate missing practices at your club during the summer due to super y with another club?Anonymous wrote:Reach out to a Director not the coach. They know who will coach next year not the coaches. They should also have an idea of what they need moving from u12 to u13. Are they picking up 4 players because they have 14 good ones or are they picking up 9 to 10 because the squad is weaker.
ok so let’s break this down for ecnl: Union: which club do you tryout for? VDA: which club? NVA: Loudoun doesn’t have super y tryouts. Arlington: straight forwardAnonymous wrote:Anonymous wrote:super Y is the summer but I guess that could be something to see. I know brave had a super y team but never saw another club doing that. This inquiry is geared around U13 tryouts. I recognize there is usually the game within the game, so I am curious if anyone has tips or tricks they could share. Suggestions on 6 months out, 3 months, 2 months, 1 month is appreciated. Thanks in advance.
Check to see if any of those clubs have a Super Y team. Some of the super Y tryouts are held before the ECNL/GA tryouts which can give your kid extra looks.
The tryouts for Super Y happen before March. Go to those tryouts to be seen prior to the ECNL/GA tryouts. Kid has to been seen as much as possible if not coming from a feeder club.

thanks but how do you know the future coach has anything to do with these teams? Isn’t super y usually coached by second team coaches of current age groups? McLean’s isn’t an ecnl team and Alexandria has now alliance so not sure how to make this connection.Anonymous wrote:Anonymous wrote:super Y is the summer but I guess that could be something to see. Syc mclean arlington springfield and alexandria definitely had super y teams. We used this as a way to get my kid seen.

Thanks, I tried that and was told they are in a no contact period until march…?Anonymous wrote:Anonymous wrote:but what team are you doing this with? It’s different coaches and fed into by alliances mostly, at least for ECNL. Would you try to guest practice a year up, is that what you are suggesting?Anonymous wrote:Anonymous wrote:Putting all the alliances to the side, are there any methods to get known by the coaches outside of tryouts? Guest practices, super-y and any other club specific training that is offered.
I’d suggest reaching out to the age group directors for the ECNL club and they will direct you to the right teams to work with.
