My kid asked for pokemon cards this year.

Pokémon cards are hugely popular in some circles. Doesn’t matter if the kids are 7 or 12 or 22. If they’re asking for them, it’s for a reason!

I have a 12yo DD but she leans boyish. She has also asked for Pokemon cards and basketball cards.
This age is hard.
She has AirPods already. Doesn’t need new ones. Has plenty of water bottles, sports equipment……

It’s so kid specific. Mine only likes adidas.

My teen will only wear Nike. He wants a new set of airpods for Christmas (which he will likely lose within the first week).

NP. I have two teens and neither is into the shoes or clothes that are usually recommended here as what all teens obviously want. If I went by DCUM’s idea of what’s cool, it would be a waste of money.

In terms of clothes and shoes for boys our school seems to be still Nike Nike Nike. Dunks, Jordans, plain Nike apparel. Some like those “Essentials” brand hoodies. I’ve seen some of the boys in athletic wear from Lulu but my DS is not a fan.

Middle school (and older) boys are so tough. I have two.

Ideas I’ve had for my DSs or things they have asked for (some are sort of boring but useful)

Something for his room? Cool lights of some sort, something decorative or cool to hang on the wall, dart board, new bedding, bean bag or other cozy chair etc?

Sports stuff. You said he has equipment for main sport but maybe some exercise stuff like a small dumbbell set, resistance bands etc? Or new basketballs or footballs for playing with casually? (Ours always seem to wear out)

Sports jerseys or other, for favorite team or player?

Tell him to go online and show you what he wants. If he said he doesn't know, he simply doesn't want to show you (maybe expensive). At this age it's a waste of money to buy as a "surprise". My kid wears a hoodie only with a small logo, while a month ago with a larger logo was fine... you get the drift. Whatever is popular at his school he'll also want.

Do you have a middle school age boy? What do yours most want for Christmas? I need ideas and mine keeps saying he doesn't know. He has all the gear for his sport of choice and for gaming. The grandparents are bugging me for suggestions and I'm stuck.

Oh and what shoes or clothes are in for this crowd now. We've got hoodies covered lol.
