i was going to say this. It's solid for Middlebury and these other schools. Outside chance at Bowdoin. Williams is more of a stretch but maybe if the extracurriculars were exceptional. 3.85 would be much better.

From our private, yes it would be for Bowdoin, esp if you ED. For Williams, for our school, they are tougher in their ED round than RD for unconnected kids. We have 3.75 kids deferred or even rejected ED, but then similar kids will occasionally get in RD or off the wait list. I think they like to see how the ED class shapes up before deciding who else to take. I think they also realize that from a rigorous private, a 3.75 who took challenging classes is not that different from a 3.9. Basically, both schools just take the kids they want and don't fuss too much about minor differences in GPA or whether a kid EDs.

Williams fills a HUGE portion of its class with recruited athletes...so, no. Unless you have some $'s to donate...

It really matters where they are in the class rank. It doesn’t matter if the school actually ranks. The colleges know because many of the top kids are all applying to the same schools.

I think with the assumption that even in a “grade deflation” environment that GPA would not put you in the top 10-15% of the class, Williams and Bowdoin would be tough. Especially RD. That doesn’t even take into account the other kids in the class who will also be applying to those schools. Odds not in your favor assuming otherwise standard strong student.

Bowdoin maybe in ED? Williams no.

Disagree with others. A 93.75 with high rigor from Sidwell/GDS is definitely conpetitive at Bowdoin.
