We loved the Conrad St James. If you have Hilton status, the executive loung was fantastic - great breakfast, afternoon tea, evening appetizers with alcohol included.

The Churchill is nice but have not checked the price lately.

Check the BoTree in Marylebone. My family loved our stay there during spring break, and I think if it's just two of you, you can get a room for under $600.

i posted on another thread recently but look at the Lime Tree hotel and the Rembrandt.

I stayed at Sonder the Henry in September and would highly recommend. Small, boutiquey, close to several tube stations, walking distance to paddington station where you can take the train to Oxford, could walk to kensington gardens, notting hill etc. etc. It was only $275/night over labor day weekend. The room was really nice and large as was the bathroom. I was really pleased.

Thanks. The Dorset and the Knightsbridge look like good options.

Look into the Firmdale Hotel group. They have lovely, quaint hotels and could be at your price point depending on the time of year. I stayed at the Dorset Square and it was @£400 for a single room (which would’ve slept 2). It was beautiful and very well-located in Marylebone.

Haven't thought that far ahead yet. I've been, but DH hasn't -- so we will be doing the most basic things like Tower of London, Buckingham Palace, Westminster Abbey, etc.

Oxford is a good base for Cotswolds and Stratford. The Graduate Randolph is great imo but may be above your budget.
Green Park in London is a convenient area imo.

DP here. Have you priced London lately? I agree that OP will have options at that price point, but they will be mediocre. And I'm hardly a hotel snob. We are staying at an ordinary Hilton near Paddington this summer and its over $500/night. Anything remotely quaint or charming or very well located was $750+.

Kimpton Bloomsbury right next to the tube fabulous bakery around back. British musseam and west end shows right there

Planning a trip to England next October. Several days in London, and then Stonehenge and Salisbury and maybe Bath, maybe Cotswalds, maybe Stratford Upon Avon. Haven't figured out the whole itinerary yet.

Any recommendations for London hotels? Budget is going to around $600 or less, so looking at 3 or 4 star, and I love small historic options. Sadly, the likes of Claridge's is out of our budget.

Happy to hear opinions on itinerary as well, or hotels in those other locations.
