DP here and I agree but would you get hard sided or soft sided?

We’re a divided household. 🙂

Spouse likes hard sided.

I like soft sided as it’s “expandable” plus the zipper doesn’t split the luggage in two halves. I prefer one deep side instead of two equal shallow sides.

But if I had to do it all over, I wouldn't spend the money -- I'd just go to TJ Maxx or something.

This. Expensive luggage just isn't worth it. Now, don't buy the cheapest stuff but nothing so expensive that when they throw it you'll be upset.

My TravelPro Crew has rigid back and sides, but a soft floppy front. Works well. Sturdy.

I still use my Lands End black 2-wheel roll aboard from 25 years ago.

DS just bought a TravelPro Crew 2-wheel roll aboard from some online place (not Amazon) at a big discount.

This is what we do. We’ve gotten Samsonite luggage there that has lasted over 10 years and we travel a good amount. When one wears out, we’ll rinse and repeat.

We've always owned Samsonite hard shell. Costco sometimes sells them as well as Macy's.

I need new luggage. Any favorites? Can’t decide between soft sided and hard shell. I need carryon and around 25” for longer trips. I have soft sided carryon now and like the front pocket so I can put in a jacket etc. thanks.
