Anonymous wrote:No. Flats and a formal dress are a no.
This is why women of a certain age often wear ultra dressy pants to big events (palazzo, sequins, etc) or floor length dresses to hide the flats.
Flats and a knee length dress announces that you teach preschool.

What about metallic rothys? You can easily add inserts to these, that's why I like them. I agree with the others that it's hard to wear flats with cocktail dresses, but I also think we all just need to get used to that look. It's ok to not wear heels!

The dresses:
Silver sequins
Black sequins
Red silk
Green silk
Black velvet
The shoes:
Is there one shoe that will work with all the dresses? I’m trying to fit everything in one bag for a weeklong trip. Black patent leather? Black satin with an embellished bow? Something else?
I’m looking for brand names and links.
When I say comfy, I mean:
Not pointy; square or round toe needed.
Flexible; not rigid because I don’t want blisters.
Cushiony; I can add Dr. Scholls or some such, but I prefer flats with some cushion and support.
