Medication needs to be handled by the family, or use technology.
If the elder is able and willing to take meds, just gets confused? Family members can set up weekly or monthly pill boxes, or there are all sorts of tech devices out there.
I like the tech-enhanced life blog for reviews of this topic:
Often there is a case manager you pay to organize it all and assess need. I don't recommend anyplace because there were issues no matter who we used and lots of turnover, but as expensive as it is, it is nice to have a contact person who can quickly get various types of providers as needs change.

That's what we found. They can remind, but cannot insist or hand them the meds.
There are a few organizations in the DC area that provide in home medical care including house calls for the elderly or disabled. I do think most require that people have significant difficulty leaving the home.
Most have restrictions on what neighborhoods/counties/zip codes they service though.
CNA’s can’t do meds I don’t think. You need an RN for that.

Is enrolling in palliative care an option? They provide many of the services you’re asking about.
If not, there are also services provided through insurance. My parents both utilized Landmark health which provide in-home nurse visits, blood draws, X-rays etc
So far, hospice has been the best in terms of services provided, but if your loved one doesn’t qualify, one of the above-mentioned options might work

Hello,
Can anyone suggest a service that provides a spectrum of in-home care services for elderly parent?
Including CNAs by the hour, but also RNs if you need that and physicians who would (rarely but just when needed) do house calls, in home phlebotomy services, etc.? We already have in-home PT. It’s not needed now, but if parent ever needed 24/7 care we would rather pay for in home than a nursing home.
I was thinking about having a CNA come once a week to review medications etc. But would prefer to start with an organization that has a range of offerings. Even better if any affiliation with Hopkins or Sibley.
