Yes that is a typical price for beachfront or resort luxury properties in Dec/Jan. The price is the price.

Thanks. I’m not looking to save money and will spend $750 a day on food. Just didn’t know if it was normal for a 2 queen room to be $700 a night at non peak week.

Ok thanks. I don’t ski but glad to see it’s in line. Was looking at ritz for spring break and it was $1400 for a mid one.

Can you link a few hotels that you are talking about?

Pretty much the norm now. I now assume $700 is the starting point for a decent place in season. I am mostly looking at ski resorts rather than beach resorts and the nice but not Four Seasons/Ritz level are $700-1000/night.

It’s the weeks you’re looking at. It’s peak season for most people because that’s when families can take a break.

Look again for mid January but not Martin Luther King weekend or February but not Presidents’ Day weekend.

Also direct flights from cold weather areas and places like Florida California in Arizona, winter is peak season.

FWIW, I’m. It talking about the week after Christmas. I know that’s closer to $1500-$2000 a night.

Looking to go in the US somewhere on a beach. Looking at the week before Christmas which is a lot more reasonable than the week after. Weekends in January. Everything seems to be so expensive and there’s nothing in between that and just a regular hotel. Is this the new norm? No $500 a night hotels anymore?
