This attitude is precisely the problem with your so-called elite universities. They are in fact NOT merely a business. They are an Eleemosynary institution. Their mission is to create and disseminate knowledge, not create an ultra-exclusive club.
A CC student who rocks the required courses to transfer into a place like that has a better track record of college performance than most “high stats” HS students so there no reason it should dilute their precious brand anyhow.
