Yes eastern only allows one elective but they only offer band after school, not orchestra.

The PTA opposed the change and coordinated with the principal at the time (Ms. Johnson) to survey the students. I think teachers and parents were probably surveyed as well, but I don’t really remember that part. After all the results were in, Ms. Johnson decided to keep the block schedule with the extra elective.
I really think it all depends on the principal. If the principal wants the change, there’s probably nothing you can do. If the pressure is coming from the teachers again AND is someone who is wiling to work with parents for the good of the kids, you MIGHT be able to counter the change if you get organized and move quickly.
