This. Test with a phone at the service entrance (demarc location). If that works, then you have an inside wiring problem, which is going to cost you money to fix, regardless of the provider. If not, then Verizon should come out and fix it without charge, since the issue is with their equipment.
Verizon customer service is horrible, but this may not be their problem to fix.
