Almost every top group in this area is morning based due to limited lane availability through the rec centers in the afternoons so they start getting kids used to early practices early on so they have time to adjust before getting put in the top group(s). If the top group your kid would eventually go to is in the morning anyways then there is no point in going afternoons now and should just start getting acclimated to mornings.
This is dumb. I would avoid early morning practice for as long as you can. It isn’t any easier to adjust as a 13 year old than it is as a high schooler.
