I'm pretty sure your parents taught you as a kid that when you won a competition or a game, it wasn't right to lord it over the kids who didn't win, even if you secretly felt superior to them. When Dems won in the past, my first thought was not to run to an anonymous message board and "own" some conservatives--I just felt relieved. The perverse pleasure MAGAs take in taunting the losing side of the recent election tells me that it's more about the game than the anything else.
