Yeah, we have been having forest fires as well, 3 100 acre forests burned down, smoky every other day, freaking annoying.

This isn’t a joke. I’m from a part of NY that’s battling a forest fire right now. An 18 yo park service employee died in that fire. I’m sure they don’t know, and I’m sure they don’t want to be responsible for starting a fire that gets out of control.

It would depend on how carefully they are burning. I would let them know we are in drought conditions.

When our neighbor burned cut down trees in his yard for two weeks, I did call 311. They did give him the regulations, but the only thing I could have done immediately would have been to call the fire department.

I didn’t hear about the ban, so I’d appreciate it if you informed me. It’s a legitimate safety issue, so I would be embarrassed, but grateful that you told me, and not offended in the slightest.

I have two neighbors with their fire pits going right now, including one under a tree with a ton of dry leaves on the ground. Would you say anything? One moved in recently and the other I’m friendly with in passing, but that’s it. All open burning is prohibited in Maryland because of the drought.
