Why is be being blamed for parents subjecting their kids to his intensive training? He wasn’t hired to be these girls’ parent; he was hired to train to gymnasts, and he was incredibly successful at that task.
I agree with this. I don't think you can automatically assume he knew about Nassar. Maybe he did but there is nothing that supports that at this time. These kids' parents didn't even know. Nassar was a manipulator and abuser and that's how they work.
I also don't think you can necessarily complain about his training. This was a different time and that was how they trained (and a lot of other sports too). People knew that when they sent their kids there (and I know people who've trained there). Like it or not, he elevated the sport and LOTS of his athletes spoke out in favor for them, and were closed to the Karolyis (i.e. had them in their weddings and so forth).
I think we focus more on health and well-being now -and rightfully so- but you cannot fault him for the intensive trainign that people KNEW about and flocked towards.
