The only solution for sagging skin is a facelift, so why waste thousands on lasers? I wasted money on subpar solutions in the past (lasers on my eyelids were a total waste of money - only a bleph will fix them), so my suggestion to you is to save your money and get the facelift. If the other sun damage is discoloration, lasers can help.

I have done CO2 fractional three times. Down time just a few days of peeling, then just red. Perfecting fine in a week to 10 days.

I didnt find it painful.

I had it done earlier this year on my face and neck. I definitely saw an improvement in wrinkles and a reduction in sunspots, especially around my eyes. It does hurt on the first day, and the rest of the week is very uncomfortable. I worked from home with the camera off for about a week and a half because it isn't a pretty recovery. I would do it again.

You need to consult with a real cosmetic dermatologist regarding the type of laser that's right for your sun damage. My husband had that years ago, and it worked like a charm - BUT, it all came back 15 years later. I don't know whether it was always going to come back, or whether it's because he can't be bothered to put on sunscreen.

I did a series of treatments with BBL laser and the difference in my sun damage is amazing. Yes it kind of hurts and there's a couple of days where you look swollen, but it wasn't too bad. There are different kinds of lasers, so go to a dr for a consultation to see what might be best for your skin (not a medspa)

Also, if you have sagging skin from weight loss, in our 50s your collagen is decreasing and it will be hard to fix that with a laser.

Fractional CO2 laser? I've had most of the levels of Fraxel lasers. CO2 is no joke. A good 2 weeks downtime. Frankly, I think a facelift would be easier. But I'm like you, terrified of getting a facelift. One, general anesthesia, but two, what if it's bad! I've seen very rich women go to extremely talented plastic surgeons come out bad. I'm convinced it has a lot to do with how the face is shaped and what exactly is wrong.

I would start where the PP is now with serums. You might even start with a really good peel. Then use the serums.

I did the halo laser a few years ago because like you, I had sun damage. It was VERY painful and you needed to do multiple treatments to see the results so I passed after one application...however, the good news is that I have had very good luck using serums and oils and vitamin c. People ask me about my skin all of the time and working with a good dermatologist you can get good results.

I'm in my 50s and have a lot of sun damage and sagging skin due to significant weight loss. I don't have the money for a facelift right now, and, frankly, it sounds pretty scary to me.
