Wallow in the miasma supporting a platform that helped elect a destructive @$$ while pushing polarized content OR have some decency and exit?

Signing up for an account was never a lifetime commitment and no one has any obligation to use X over another other platform.

Twitter is now basically a truth social, a cesspool of right wing nonsense and grievance. No better that the woke crap they were crying about. Insecurity of these rich tech bros is amazing. Wish they had read some books and developed a modicum of empathy in their youth, but they were too busy staring at their computers, lol.

Nobody is obligated to use twitter, social media so if Steven King is not using it, it’s not shocking.

There is a mass exodus of users from X due to Musks support of Trump. Nothing more than that.

No, most decent people and companies are getting off X.

X is a disaster, and SK is a business so he is going to the new platform where he will make money.

People are leaving today because new Twitter/X terms of service are taking effect.

No one is obligated to remain on a social media platform.

Today 11/15 is a big day - lots of prominent names are leaving Twitter. Their reasons vary: the comments are a cesspool of filth and bigotry, they get death/r@pe threats over DMs, the algorithm has been tweaked to heavily promote rightwing content, bots are running wild, and all moderation has been lifted.

Many people now believe that Twitter has been changed to the detriment of meaningful conversation. Bluesky seems to be a solid alternative. Let's see what happens.

I’m really torn, and shocked he submitted to Musk, essentially.

Back when Musk acquired X, King complained about the fee Musk was charging for verified members.

After the election, rumors began flying that Musk had kicked King off of X, to which King refuted, saying that he was still there.

Now, suddenly, King has left X because he claims it’s toxic. Wasn’t it always?

It feels like King left before Musk could made him leave, and after all he’s done to defend his stance on X, it feels cowardly that he left on his own. I think waiting and allowing petty Musk to give him the boot would have been the better look for King. Thoughts?
