Once a year, I only drive 6-8k miles a year.

No, but we can walk to everything.

We changed our own since covid started. We do each car maybe 2-3x a year.

I have a 5 year old Mercedes SUV. I take it in for its scheduled service about every 10,000 miles whenever the annoying service indicatiord come on, which ends up being every 9 months or so.

2005 Prius. About every 9 months or 7500 miles.

My questions would be whether the engine consumes any oil during that time and how does the oil look when it comes out. Mine is an older engine that probably has some blow-by at the rings, so the oil starts to look very black by the time I change it.

Modern, tight engines with synthetic oil can go very long between changes without a problem. (Of course, I would stick to the manual if it was under warranty.)

Usually once a year. We don't put that many miles on our cars so aim for an annual service. We've been told that 1x/year is enough with high quality oils today. it used to be that the norm was 6 months.

10 year Subaru, whenever the light comes on which usually is about 8 months.

Whenever the light comes on. Maybe every 6-7 months? 2018
