Hit the custom tip button then put in $0. If it doesn't let you, then just put in $0.01.

Incorrect. Corpoate has to pick the software they use. They can turn off the tip asking. They don't and places use it as a perk to get employees.

Many of these places the employees don’t even get the tips! Mgmt keeps them. Sometimes I ask the employee if they get the tip if I feel like tipping. Ex a subway near my house has the tip function but the owners keep the tips.

I hate the ones that almost try to trick you, like they either have 20 25 25 in a row or 18 25 20 in a row. 🙄

I would like that too. I usually select the custom tip option and tip around 10% rounding up to the nearest dollar. I know people are paid above restaurant rates but their hourly rate still sucks. So I don’t mind tipping a bit.

The other day at Honeygrow I encountered a screen to order. I entered all of my selections and was shown a tip screen before payment. I selected no tip. At no point did I interact with anyone in that establishment. The salad cost nearly $15. That was with a fully vegan selection.

Found it. They cite a study that few people actually tip at coffee shops or fast casual restaurants where you order at the counter.

I ordinarily tip about 10% on things like picking up to go coffee or grabbing a bagel. I’m so irritated that the automated selections are 15, 20 or 22 percent at those places. I wonder how many more people would tip if they have a 10% option at counter service type places. I assume those people are all paid above minimum wage….why would I tip them 22%?
