I have 2-3 trips to Europe coming up in the first half of 2025 and I'm not at all concerned. I wouldn't travel to Iran, Lebanon, Israel, Ukraine or Russia in the near term but that's about it. That said, I know people who have traveled to Israel recently and said it was fine.

Just sew a Canadian flag on your backpack and say "eh" a lot.

I'm deeply concerned about the incoming administration but not altering any travel plans (and we have a lot already booked for 2025).

I think America (specifically Trump's) support of Israel with the current situation might add towards the animosity against American tourists in some places.

I have travel planned in March to Europe and we will still travel. This is not an expensive trip we are taking though as I got budget tickets and am staying with friends. I do not think it will impact that. The financial impact in 2025 may make it difficult for my family to travel much like we wanted the rest of 2025 I had planned a big summer trip and Christmas trip.

I have plans to travel to Morocco in late February. I haven't really thought about how the election might affect it. I also traveled to Morocco in March of 2017; with a long layover in Brussels where I went out, took a train to Leuven, and interacted with tons of locals. No one said a word to me about Trump.

Many countries don’t particularly like Americans but they do like our money. I don’t think it’ll be any different than usual. Fwiw, I traveled a lot in early 2017 right after Trump’s first term started, and I got lots of questions about it. No one was hostile or anything, though. They were curious.

Unless you have the certainty associated with an infallible crystal ball, just get cancel-for-any-reason trip insurance for any non-refundable travel you plan on. That would be smart without regard to political winds blowing one way or the other, think of the possibility of future pandemics, and of unanticipated civil unrest abroad.

I know there is a thread of moving out of the country because of election results. Anyone rethinking travel plans in general because of the results? Do you think results and potential consequences (e.g., Trump alienating EU, Middle East conflict/Trump Being pro-Israel, mass deportation?, etc) might increase anti-American sentiment? Are you avoiding certain states or countries in 2025 until things shake out?
