Sign up for what works best for your kids/schedule. Then, you can send an email saying “hey Larla is signed up for X. We’d love to see friends there”.

If it were me, I would just plan what works for your schedule and assume your kid will make friends/see their school friends outside of camp.

That being said, I think it’s too early to coordinate with school friends. IME with young kids, friendships can change a lot over the course of the year, and you don’t want to be stuck with plans all summer with a kid that your kid had a falling out with. If coordinating with others is a must, do so with the daycare friends.

My 5 year old has 2 group of friends that she sees them 1-2x/monthly. One group from daycare but no one goes to her elementary school. I know the kids and moms in this group well. They kids play well together. One group is from current school, and I don't know the moms/kids well yet because school started in September. Friendship is developing but I am not 100% certain which ones to ask. I am still observing.

I need to plan/sign up summer camp early because I have another older kid that will attend outdoor summer camps that she can't endure the heat and bug. It takes some wits to plan 2 kids camps schedule and I work. It seems much more easier for me to ask daycare group what camps their kids may do, but I am worried the most is she may find her bestie in current school group since summer is many months away. Friendship could develop anytime because she sees them at school daily. It seems it makes more sense that I should try my best to find and reach out to current school group, right? I ask to validate my thoughts are right or wrong.
