Parents who attended were you happy, disappointed or saw what you expected?

You sit in the back and watch. And at least for the elementary students, you will not find them engaging in their typical behaviors while parents are there.

You just sit there and watch. Honestly it is super awkward but my kids like me to go so I do.

Stand back and watch quietly usually.

It tends to be the former for the lower elementary grades, and the latter for the higher grades.

Please don't engage in sidebar conversation with your fellow parents if they too attend. That is distracting and teachers do not like it!

Our ES has open house next week for parents to observe what their kids do in the classroom. I have 3 kids in the ES, and I happen to be free that day if I want to attend open house. I don't know if teachers likes it or not and parents may cause some disturbance/chaos when they teach. What do parents expect to do during this kind of open house ? Interaction with kids or just stand in the back to observe quietly without causing any interruptions. I am debating if I should go or not.
