Sorry, I don't remember the specific questions, but there were other marketing-related questions in the form as well, aimed at understanding what club/coach qualities might be appealing to those who are registering.
Q. I am feeling pressure to let a coach know whether I will play for them next year. What should I do?
A. Remember, a coach is not allowed to seek the intent of a player prior to making an offer and is not allowed to seek a commitment prior to the Open Tryout Period. The purpose of the CHRVA recruiting policy is to allow players to evaluate their options prior to making a commitment.

Were looking at actually had questions on their registration form asking whether that club was your first choice and what the likelihood is that you would choose that club if you were given an offer. DD wound up not trying out for that one, but those questions did catch my eye. They seemed a bit nosy and it made me wonder whether we’d be held to those answers (probably not?) and it made me wonder whether DD would get more attention at the tryout or less. Did anyone see this same registration form, and what did you think?
VolleyViet had this question on their tryout registration form. There were 3 possible answers, and they went something like this...
"If you received an offer from VV, would you accept?
-Yes. VV is the only team I am trying out for.
-Yes, I am trying out for other teams but would accept an offer from VV.
-Maybe. I'd have to consider other offers."

What was the club that asked this question? We tried out for three clubs and none of them asked about your approach to a potential offer.

The only thing that changes every year is that the number of girls trying out increases, and increases and increases. So the tryouts get harder and harder and harder because of the exponential growth of competition.
It's a numbers game. The demand is insanely high. I don't know why. Too many girls live in the area and too many parents willing to pay and drive their kids far to be on club.
OP here. It doesn't help that people keep calling clubs that create expansion teams "money grabs"
There is a demand, we should be encouraging more teams not telling clubs that they are being greedy money grubbers.

This gives the team more of an incentive to select them and we clear up a lot of the clutter.
I mean how many times have you gotten an offer from a club you would be ecstatic about before tryouts started but then you get that offer and think well, maybe i can trade up and you don't release that spot until 9:30 when you hear from another team that had a player trade up.
