Once upon a time you could be a pharmacist with a four year degree. Then they added the pharm D. In the last few years they've added a residency. If you have the old set of credentials you are way less employable and, at least with the residency, you can't really get that as an established pharmacist so you're stuck as a second tier employee.
The job market is saturated so pay is stagnant.
Lots of retail pharmacy jobs but you get treated like a retail worker. Like literally pharmacists at CVS are treated like shit, you can read about it.
