Some people like talking about politics. Many others (like me) are just addicted to it even though we know it doesn't help.
I suspect many of the people who are most upset by the Trump win are, like me, privileged people with good lives.
I absolutely think there are valid reasons to be stressed about what he will do as president. I worry very much about undocumented people and gender nonconforming people in my community and federal workers that will be targeted by his administration.
But if I'm being honest, during his first presidency the worst thing for me was the stress of reading and listening to the news about all the ridiculous and hateful things he and his people said. My life overall was and continues to be great. And so my goal is to try to tune it out as much as possible and focus my energies on doing good in my community for those who are struggling (and my sense is their struggles are 80% independent of who is president).
