I’m realistic and know that there are players who are better than my kid, and I’m not offended that she’s on a waitlist because I’ve seen the competition. And iif those kids are better, then they’ll pass up the spot that we are waiting on to play for a better team. Plus, isn’t it self-explanatory that the reach club is preferable to the safety club?
Do what's best for your kid. If she really wants the stretch club then wait and see what happens. Just be careful as you might not know whether she's off the waitlist before or even after 10pm, which would mean the other offer is potentially at risk if she's still wanting to wait to see how it plays out with the stretch club. Depending on what sort of relationship you have with both clubs, it could be worth talking to them to let them know where things stand, but that does carry some risk that the club she's holding an offer for would move on at 10:01 since they would know they were her second choice.
