Why only girls?
Pardon my ignorance.
My kid is one of the kids new to volleyball with the introduction of boys high school volleyball in FCPS.
Right now his athleticism (and maybe his soccer skills) help him get good positioning for setting but he knows nothing.
Is there a difference between girl's setting and boy's setting?
I don't see anything in the original message suggesting that this was targeted to girls only.
Except the title?

So girls and boys are actually taught to set differently because of the way girls and boys play/hit. Of course there are many great male setter coaches who coach girls- but honestly, the female setting coaches are better for the more advanced setters as they understand the nuances better- girls vs boys setting.

There are some differences because of the play speed and/or hand/finger strength between boys and girls.But should be OK at the young ages. DMV does need more good setter coaches.

I believe she lives in/around DC so she can go to gyms in MD or VA. She knows of various locations that have gym availability- you can discuss the best options given your location.

She played at Villanova. She is new to the area. Her father is Terry Pettit who was the head coach for Nebraska from 1977-1999….. pretty sure she had good training.
