I like solid starts and they say that they are a choking hazard but whole segments with membranes are ok by about 2. I would wait a little longer in a classroom where the ratio is different or just cut the whole fruit in half horizontally and then the kids can peel but still get 1/2 segments.

+1 I am skeptical of the super tiny ones. Just had near perfect bag from Sams. My 85 year old father thought they were the sweetest he has ever had.

It's such a gamble to just pick what's at the store. Sometimes they are small and hard and not peelable. Sometimes they are tasteless and have SEEDS. SEEDS! I have chucked whole bags in disgust after making the unfortunate choice. I think Cuties are the only reliable ones and those ones aren't in every store.

There are different brands? I just buy whatever the store has and there is only one choice. I’m assuming it’s Halos

I don’t ever recall seeing super small ones. I usually buy Halo.

They're not great yet, try a little later in the season. All the ones we got in October were disappointing. I think they peak around December/January.

Interesting. They have it for snack a lot at our preschool.

What’s the best brand of clementines for young preschoolers? The ones I usually buy seem to be a little larger and not as good for little ones, but I’ve seen others with tiny clementines. Is one brand particularly good for this?
