Our team collected tons of money. It was only used on the seniors and a few others.

Our seniors had a banquet that was mostly food donations raised by sign up. Seniors also recieved gifts and memorabilia that came out of our beginning of season dues. I'm curious what your seniors recieved that was costly?

Not all high schools have booster clubs. Wheaton started its BC this year and no existing funding that I’m aware of.

Our principal is very relaxed and there is little accountability at our school. The booster clubs are private organizations. Zero transparency. I just stopped donating and I'm not sending money to random parents through their venmo when you have no idea where the money is going. I'll donate food/goods, but not money anymore.

Interestingly enough I was wondering this as well...for instance why are PTAs so transparent but from what I understand Booster Club balances for each sport are only disclosed to the coach? What are the rules exactly?

Are they fundraising for the team or to donate to a cancer charity?

The team..yet there's no indication where the money went. No new equipment, uniforms, trips , pizza parties. Nothing.

This should be raised immediately and a reporting of the funds requested. They should then be deposited with a qualified booster club or provide to the school to track/report on.

No dollars should ever be collected that aren't collected directly in to booster club account. Athletic directors that know teams or their parents are raising money not accounted for should be removed.

They also are not following safe sport rules. Our coach has a private chat group where parents aren't allowed and its very hush hush.

Should be going to a team-specific Booster Club account. Some coaches run fundraisers and then spend that money directly or put in the booster account but that's asking for trouble.

Often its the team parent collecting money into their personal account which is iffy.
