Private K-8: B, but after K, they have to bring their costume and they change into it before the party.

K does a Halloween parade, party, and show. Older lower school kids watch the K Halloween show

Public school in Austin- A.

When my kids were in private school, the secondary students didn't celebrate at all, but the elementary students might watch a Charlie Brown movie.

It’s an exception out here. Some schools had weekend Fall Festivals last week but they are harvest/fall-focused and don’t hint at Halloween.

I'm also in the PNW. Our catholic school goes all out and it's A, B, C and D. The public schools in our (very wealthy) area have banned costumes because they're "not equitable". In a town where the average hone price is almost 2 million. Insanity.

K-1 always had a party with crafts and snacks organized by the teacher and maybe a parent. 2-3 had something small organized by the teacher. 4th had snacks brought in by parents (no coordination) and a movie. This year there’s been no talk of snacks, so I think maybe a movie? Pre Covid, the parade did not include the 5th graders, but Covid moved it outside so now all are included

Why wouldn't they include the 5th graders?

School in California-

A, B, C and D

The day starts with a school wide Halloween costume parade and ends with a class Halloween party. A few days ago the younger kids went to a pumpkin patch field trip and a few Saturdays ago there was a Fall festival with a heavy Halloween theme, including a Haunted House created by 6th graders.

Select the answer that best applies:
My children's public school celebrates October 31 by:

A. Allowing children to wear Halloween costumes to school

B. Holding classroom Halloween parties with Halloween refreshments and Halloween themed games/crafts

C. Hosting a Halloween Parade or other "whole school celebration event" during the school day

D. Sponsoring a Halloween event outside of school hours

E. Celebrating "Fall Harvest" or "Dress Like a Book Character" day that coincidentally happens to be on October 31, classroom parties activities are things like "Carve A Fall-Themed Orange Gourd"

F. No celebration of any kind; school newsletter specifically states that kids should not come to
school in costume

G. Other (please specify)_____
