How so? Genuinly asking. If she came upon this information during her regular duites and just recognized their names, she didn't violate anything.

Yes, if you are regularly billed for storage and she works in billing she absolutely could know that you have embryos there. It would be very easy to pull up your account and look at invoices and payments in every accounting system I've ever worked in.

Does she know that you have fertility issues and would be inclined to try to look up your information? The hipaa laws would prevent her from discussing this information with others, but it seems unlikely that there are internal protections to prevent her from viewing clients’s financial records since that would be part of her job. If you are being billed regularly for embryo storage then she probably has access to those records.

What do you think she'll do? Is she a psycho who will do something if you get pregnant? If you use them, she's going to find out.

Without seeming crazy, no, I don’t think so. And billing people do computer billing, not going down lists of patients so although she could see your name she’s not likely to. There are rules against looking up friends/neighbors/exes if that’s what you are worried about.

I found out today husband's ex works in the billing/payments of the lab we have embryos stored. Is it likely she knows we have embryos there? My mind is telling me yes, of course she would/could know, but I'm hoping that's not actually the case.
